"After a period of disintermediation (people doing their own on-line research instead of having librarians, assistants or information professionals do it for them) there has been a swing back to reintermediated research, as most employees learned they lack the significant competencies needed to do quality research. Young workers tend to still do their own on-line research, but only until they find an appropriate intermediary and reach the level at which they are permitted to delegate research." -- Do you have any data to back up your interesting observation about reintermediation and the causes for it....??

Hi, you can also look at Portaneo an open source enterprise portal that is downloadable from http://www.portaneo.com, and propose an interesting view of the KM.

Hi Dave - you should take a look at http://www.personall.fr/en/ whose Knowledge Networking Enterprise portal app is close to hitting the mark on some of your thoughts on what's next after KM.

Also see The PersonAll-ization of Knowledge Work The AppGap http://bit.ly/58ABI ( I believe you know the author Jon Husband )

Hi David,
great post,
I think we will see more and more Jon's in the future.

Only Personal Knowledge Management will be a concern for every one. When people are fired because stocks drop 2 pennies, personal KM, personal networks will be every one's back up.
